Meet Your Resident Doctors

Jennifer Laman, DO PGY-1
Dr. Jennifer Laman is from Sarasota, Florida and received her undergraduate degree in Exercise Physiology from The Florida State University. Her medical degree is from LECOM Bradenton, where she was the president of The Florida Osteopathic Medical Association.
Jennifer chose to become a Family Practice physician because "it allows me to form connections with entire families and the community. I would like to practice preventive medicine to help my patients learn to live healthier lifestyles". Jennifer loves all areas of family practice, especially women's health, preventive medicine, and pediatrics.
Our attending physicians are very knowledgeable and they give residents enough independence to feel comfortable and confident. Our Family Practice residency program is very unique because we have the ability to focus on areas of FP we enjoy most, while still gaining a well rounded clinical knowledge base.
Jennifer is married to Chris Laman, an Anesthesiology resident, and they have two daughters. Outside of medicine she enjoys spending time with her family and friends and also enjoys boating, scuba diving, and the beach.
Laura A. Danis, D.O. PGY-1
Dr. Laura Danis, originally from New Canaan, CT, graduated from the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine. Prior to attending medical school, she earned a Masters Degree in Community and Addictions Counseling at the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, VA. “With my background in counseling, Family Medicine seemed to be a natural fit for me. I believe that in order to work with patients and fully address their problems and/or concerns it is essential to approach health care with a comprehensive mind, body and spiritual approach. The Largo Medical Center Family Medicine Residency Program trains residents to further develop compassion and understanding for others, while also exposing us to a multitude of disease processes so that we have the knowledge to become thorough well rounded physicians. In addition, the program trains us to be strong proponents of not just reactive but also preventive medical care.”
She enjoys swimming, the warm weather and spending time outside with her family. “I love this area because there are so many different activities. When my friends and family visit, it seems as if there is always something for everyone!”
